Inspiring Talent For A Better World

Recession and Business Education

The economic downturn of recent times has affected the world more severely than we could have imagined. All of a sudden, everything was not looking so good, jobs were being lost, property prices that were plummeting, new developments were lying unoccupied, while private house sales were virtually impossible, unless at a loss.

This scenario was a big shock when recession first hit, but slowly as people started to deal with it in their own ways, several interesting changes began to take place in society. Human beings are very adaptable creatures; after all, we have not evolved so successfully without having the ability to cope with stressful situations!

People’s spending patterns changed drastically, attitudes towards certain products and services changed, and one of the biggest changes took place in the field of education. As unemployment grew, more and more students began to opt for studying at university level. The recession also had a bearing on what subjects students chose to study.

Business and finance degrees became more sought after. So as it became evident that job losses were to continue and that the global recession was not a mere fleeting glitch, more people started opting for degrees in business, finance etc.
