There is no question as to whether one of the greatest scientific breaks the world community will be make is the discovery new cures for both fighting and preventing cancer. Cancer is a topic that is the passion of so many. For some, it is the loved ones of those who have passed. Others are survivors who want to give back.

The fighting cancer as a cause is a space that seems crowded with large foundations and organizations dominating fund raising efforts. Still, there are all kinds of niches. One is the fight against oral cancer . Someone dies of oral cancer every hour of every day. When compared to other cancers very little has been done to inform the public on how they can avoid the ravages of oral cancer. Oral cancer is caused by use of alcohol, tobacco and exposure to HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) which causes cervical cancer in women. Oral Cancer philanthropy is a classic example of a niche within a greater cause that has been under served.

Another example I learned of was a foundation that treated the "now" aspect of breast cancer. There are some very dominant organizations raising funds for future careers. What about those who fight it now? What about their families? They need assistance, inspiration, and more.

When you look for inspiration, use the case presented in the fight against cancer as an example. There is a niche within every cause and you can be the one who fills that void. Be inspired and inspire others!
